TERMS AND CONDITIONS — FRENCH PURSUIT

INTRODUCTION
These terms govern your use of French Pursuit — the website, the 1:1 lessons, the WhatsApp community, and the podcast transcripts. By buying a service, subscribing, or contacting us for services, you agree to these terms.
They are written in plain language wherever possible.

These terms are between "you" (the person purchasing a service or subscribing) and French Education Limited. Throughout these terms, "we", "us", and "our" refer to French Education Limited.
DEFINITIONS
Service — any of the offerings on French Pursuit: 1:1 lessons, Weekly French on WhatsApp, and podcast transcripts.
Content — everything created for French Pursuit: lessons, podcasts, transcripts, texts, images, exercises, and any material shared through the WhatsApp community.
You / student / subscriber — the person purchasing or subscribing to a service.
THE SERVICES
1:1 lessons
Personalised French lessons delivered online via Zoom. Sessions are 50 minutes. Packages are valid for six months from date of purchase.
Weekly French on WhatsApp
A monthly subscription to a WhatsApp community with weekly content. First two weeks free; thereafter €10,99/month, billed monthly.
Access continues until you cancel. Cancellation stops future charges; the current month is not refunded.
Podcast transcripts
Digital study packets (PDF) sold per episode at €4. Delivered by email upon purchase. First transcript free with email signup.
Once delivered, transcripts are non-refundable.
PRICES AND PAYMENT
All prices are shown in euros (€) and are inclusive of any applicable taxes at the current rate.
Payment is processed by PayPal, Airwallex or Wise. We do not see or store your card or bank details — these are handled by PayPal directly.
Prices may change. If you are already on a subscription, price changes take effect at your next renewal, and we will notify you at least 30 days in advance.
CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS
The full refund policy is on a separate page and forms part of these terms.
In summary:
1:1 lesson packages — fully refundable within 14 days if unused; partial refund for serious life events at the single-lesson rate.
WhatsApp — cancel any time before the trial ends and you owe nothing; after, cancellation stops future charges, but the current month is not refunded.
Podcast transcripts — non-refundable once delivered.
YOUR RIGHT OF WITHDRAWAL UNDER EU LAW
Under EU consumer law, you have the right to withdraw from a contract within 14 days of purchase without giving a reason.
For 1:1 lesson packages: this right applies unless you have already started lessons within the 14-day window, in which case starting the service ends the right of withdrawal.
For WhatsApp: the 14-day right applies to the initial subscription; the free trial covers this period entirely.
For podcast transcripts: because transcripts are digital content delivered immediately on purchase, you expressly waive the 14-day right of withdrawal at the moment of purchase, in accordance with EU law.
INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
All content on French Pursuit — including lesson materials, podcast audio, transcripts, texts, images, exercises, and any material shared through the WhatsApp community — is the intellectual property of French Education Limited.
You may use content for your own personal learning. You may not:
Reproduce or republish content elsewhere.
Share transcripts or lesson materials with anyone who has not paid for them.
Use content for commercial purposes.
Record or redistribute lessons, podcast audio, or WhatsApp content.
Copying content out of the WhatsApp community and sharing it externally is a breach of these terms.
WHAT YOU AGREE TO
By using French Pursuit, you agree to:
Provide accurate contact information at signup.
Treat other community members respectfully.
Not share your account access with others.
Not use French Pursuit for anything illegal.
We reserve the right to end your access to any service if you break these terms, with no refund owed for the period of breach.
WHAT WE CANNOT GUARANTEE
We deliver our services with care. However, we cannot guarantee:
That you will reach a specific level of French by a specific date.
That you will pass a specific exam.
That WhatsApp or Zoom will always be available (these are third-party services).
That every technical issue can be resolved immediately.
You are responsible for your own learning consistency, and for having a working internet connection and functioning device for lessons.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
French Education Limited will do its best to deliver every service well. If something goes wrong, our liability is limited to the amount you have paid for the service in question.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for gross negligence, wilful misconduct, or matters that cannot legally be limited under applicable law.
IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG
If you have a problem, please write to us first at contact@frenchpursuit.com. Most issues can be resolved by talking.
If a matter cannot be resolved informally, you may contact the EU's Online Dispute Resolution platform, provided by the European Commission: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr
FORCE MAJEURE
We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control — including but not limited to natural disasters, illness, power outages, internet outages, or acts of government.
In such cases, we will do our best to reschedule affected lessons or extend affected subscriptions.
CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
We may update these terms occasionally. Significant changes will be communicated by email to active students and subscribers. Continued use of French Pursuit after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
The "effective date" at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
GOVERNING LAW
These terms are governed by French law.
Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be handled by the competent French courts. This does not affect any statutory rights you have as a consumer in your country of residence — those rights are protected under EU law regardless of the governing law of these terms.
